Plans and entitlements

Each Suite surface needs a feature flag carried by your plan or granted to your tenant or account. Free plans carry the Data Designer; the Paid and Sponsor plans carry everything. The administration guide explains plans and limits; the reference has the full matrix.

What you see without one

  • In the suite dropdown, the destination is listed but not linked, with an access note: "Included with the Authoring suite. Ask a tenant admin to enable it.", "Available in the Scribe preview. Contact your account team to join.", "Available in the Slate preview. Contact your account team to join.", "Included with a hosted plan. Contact your account team to upgrade." or "Included with the Designer plan. Ask a tenant admin to enable it."
  • On an Authoring page, with no authoring flag at all: Authoring is not enabled — "Your plan does not include the Authoring suite (Scribe, Slate, and managed delivery). Ask a tenant admin to enable Authoring to continue."
  • On one surface you lack: "Your plan does not include Surface. Ask a tenant admin to enable it.", with a Current scope card so you can see what you were about to open.
  • In the Authoring Overview's setup checklist, a step you cannot do reads Unavailable with the same reason; in its Go to cards, "Not included in your plan. Ask a tenant admin to enable X."
  • On Guides without Scribe: "Guides are part of Scribe, which is not enabled for this tenant."

A tenant admin enables a flag from the main app's feature flags page, or by changing the tenant's license.

Previews

Scribe, Slate, Releases and Insights are previews: they carry a Preview chip in the suite dropdown, and some controls inside them are visible but not yet wired to a backend. Each page here names those controls where they appear.

Limits

A plan also caps tenants, users per tenant, projects and versions. The one you will meet first is the tenant cap — Tenant limit reached (x of y used) — upgrade your plan to create more — when creating a tenant from the tenant switcher. Billing and self-service upgrades are not available yet; the upgrade link is a placeholder.
