PreviewHosted planhosted
The Release Center is where a built portal reaches readers: two environment lanes, the timeline of every release, an evidence drawer per release, and Promote and Roll back behind impact sheets. "Promotion routes to artifact …; it does not rebuild." Without a scope: "Choose a project and version to see its releases."; a project with no managed site: "This project has no managed Slate site, so it has no release history yet. Releases appear here once a build is published to a hosted environment."
Environments
Two lanes — Preview ("Immutable preview deployments. Not indexed and not customer facing.") and Production — each showing what is Serving, its Artifact, Domains, Regions, a traffic share and requests per minute, and whether activation was within its target (30 seconds for Preview, 60 for Production). A lane warns about Conflicting active releases or "Nothing is serving …". Show only lane filters the timeline; Clear lane filter restores it.
The timeline
Filter chips All releases, Active, Failed, Degraded, Awaiting review. Each row carries its status — Queued, Building, Ready, Awaiting review, Active, Superseded, Failed, Rolled back — the environment, the source reference, then Artifact, Actor, Created, Active, Domains, Traffic and Checks. Row actions: Open id evidence, Promote, and on the active row Roll back. An empty filter reads "No release matches this filter. The history itself is unchanged…"
Evidence
The drawer — Release id — opens with the cache impact ("N of M cached pages are invalidated on activation"), the security preset, the artifact digest and size, and Download ZIP (disabled until the artifact download endpoint exists; "No downloadable artifact — this release never finished building." when there is none). A Stale approval badge marks an approval given against another artifact.
Tabs: Changed pages, Diff (text; a visual comparison needs the managed preview backend), Checks, Build (phases), Logs, Audit, Domains, Traffic (edge regions). The dashboard and build history deep-link here with a release and its Logs tab selected.
Promote and roll back
Promote opens Promote to production (or to preview); Roll back opens Roll back. Each impact sheet states the policy, What changes — domains, the edge cache, the security preset, "id stops serving" — and the checks. Production requires "Production requires an approval recorded against the exact artifact being promoted…" and the checkbox I have reviewed what changes above.
A disabled button always says why: already active; no built artifact ("…never rebuilds…"); not promotable; a partial region rollout; a stale approval; approval required; nothing to roll back; "You are offline. Routing changes need a connection."; or an action already in flight. A failed action shows Promotion failed or Rollback failed with an audit line.
